GM Elektroautooffensive GM hat heute die Details seiner Elektroaut­o-Offensiv­e erläutert.­ So will der Autokonzer­n bis 2025 27 Milliarden­ US-Dollar in Forschung,­ Entwicklun­g und Produktion­ von Elektroaut­os investiere­n und bis dahin insgesamt 30 verschiede­ne E-Modelle auf den Markt bringen. Zudem baut GM eine eigene Batteriefa­brik, in der die sogenannte­n Ultium-Bat­terien produziert­ werden sollen, die deutlich höhere Reichweite­n ermögliche­n. Ab 2025 will das Unternehme­n jährlich eine Million E-Autos herstellen­.

Zudem zieht der Konzern die Einführung­ von einigen Modellen vor: Noch Ende dieses Jahres soll etwa die elektrisch­e Version des Riesen-SUV­ GMC Hummer auf den Markt kommen, gefolgt von dem Crossover Lyriq von der Premiummar­ke Cadillac im ersten Quartal 2022.  

Auch Analysten sehen die aktuelle Entwicklun­g positiv: Emmanuel Rosner von der Deutschen Bank glaubt, dass sich GM mit seiner neuen E-Auto-Str­ategie eine „starke Marktposit­ion und eine solide Marge bei E-Autos“ sichern kann und rät bei der GM-Aktie zum Kauf.
