An estimate of stockholder psychology

The psychology of stockholders can be useful in determining certain levels of resistance and support. If you can determine where large groups of investors purchased the stock you can expect selling to begin at those levels and continue as it moves up. With Calypte I wanted to know how many shares were purchased below today’s price of .21 cents. I checked the trade history on Yahoo’s HIV site and found that there were only 39 days separated into three groups where the stock traded under that amount. Thirty five days from July 10th 2003 to August 27th 2003 with a total of 159,601,300 shares. Three days in November 2004 with a total of 7,352,600 shares and one day in April 2005 totaling 1,132,000. During that time 1,395,215,865 shares changed hands. If my math is correct only 14% of the stock was purchased below .21 cents. I believe many of the shares from the first 35 days from July to August 2003 sold after the ourstreet scam. If you take them out of the equation that would leave only about 1% of all trades after August 27th 2003 to the present that are below .21 cents. It’s a very small percentage and it brings me to the conclusion that most of the trades selling for .21 are losing money. It also brings me to the conclusion that about 99% of the stockholders at present bought above today’s price. So where are the bulk of those holders now? There are three blocks that show up in the chart. The first group spans about 3 months from September to November 2003 and trades from .90 to 1.79. The second group is 9 months beginning in January and runs to September 2004 with a range of .74 to .38 cents. The third group is from October 2004 to the present with prices from .18 to .38 cents. This last group will be some of the first to make money on the stock as it begins to climb. I believe most of them turn stock faster than this and they will be eager to get their money and move on. The second group will have to wait until reaching .38 on up to .74. I believe this group contains the largest number of stockholders for various reasons and we might expect more selling pressure in this range. I think this contains the largest group of longs and won’t be selling until they double or triple their money. Finally the third group will see profit beginning at .90 and continuing to 1.79. I think this last group will be some of the most eager sellers because Calypte is not an attractive stock for them. They bought fewer shares than the rest of us and will have to wait longer to multiply their investment. I don’t believe they will have much selling pressure on the stock because they own fewer shares. When we hit 1.80 it should bolt up because that will be the last point of resistance and it will be blue skies from then on. We will see how it plays out but I think it’s interesting that the majority of stockholders are forced to wait for it to move above .38 before they can make any money. My conclusion is that it will be a rapid move to .38 upon news from China or Africa. From .38 to .75 it will experience greater selling pressure so this will be the most difficult resistance to break through. From .75 to 1.80 will be the lightest amount of selling pressure until we finally break out and head for blue skies. This is my thought on the subject. I’m looking forward to 1.80 and beyond no matter how the ride plays out.

Dr. George's interview...

Not nearly as much fun as a Cataldo interview.

You can hear Dr. George gasping as he tries to answer the harder questions.

Did say they were selling rapid tests. Didn't say where though.

Said trials had been completed in 2 African countries and started in 5 or 6 more. No details as to countries or results.

Said that China tests are complete and results would be released "shortly".(Gee wouldn't this have been a great venue to release them, Dr. George? Or is after the 10Q better?)

Said that Calypte took this opportunity to sell their existing lab products, but didn't say to whom they sold them.

Said that this sale reduces the cash burn rate from 1.1 million a month to $ 400,000 to $ 500,000. He used the term "run rate" instead of cash burn rate however.

Talked about the incidence test obtaining growing sales. Did not mention having to get the upcoming Oregon plant certified however.

Talked about a possible incidence rapid test combo. Didn't say whether it would be blood, serum, or urine. Didn't mention whether it would be current platform, Ani platform, or both.

Is Calypte licensed to sell the BED incidence test or just to manufacture it for sale by CDC?

Was sagste denn nun zum Aproval in Uganda ?!

this was simple annual SHM in June reelect our directors and give us millions more of the cheap stock options. Also reelect out Accountants.

PS if you don't approve the changes we ask for we will be delisted off the AMEX, so you really really need to give us more shares.

PS If you want to discuss anything at annual SHM tell us about it in writing before March 30, 2005. (Really too funny and too obvious don't you think?

PS where is the "attached" 10QSB they promised?

Still the same Old Calypte

Obvious bad results in the 10Q overshadowed by hype of "approvals" for rapid tests. Not the first one sold yet.

$ 665,000 sales was well under my $ 750,000 estimate and about 2/3's of last years number..

Highly "touted" BED incidence tests sell $ 39,000 in first quarter. WOO WOO. That is less than than the salary of any officer at Calypte.

Apparently Dr. George and Richard Brounstein are still holding off on joining the board of directors or buying any HIV stock also.

And did you read the terms and conditions of the partnership with Maxim? Too funny. HIV still retains all liabilities for payment of lease, equipment, and patent royalties which they are behind over a million bucks on at 3-31-2005.

Take a gander at the $ 275,000 that they had in the bank on 3-31-2005. About one weeks cash burn. They really cut it close this time.

I bet the suppliers, patent holders, and Magic were (and still are) waiting for some of the money owed them also.
( Speaking Of Magic, what is his situation now?)

Should be a pop in share price when announcements of approvals are made followed by a slow decline when no sales of product are made, and as the costs for the "restructuring" adds up.

My guess is that HIV runs out of cash by the end of the third quarter, and there will be no appreciable sales of rapid tests by that time.

Results so bad only a Jonas could "pump" it....

Eigentlich unnötige Antworten: kade, was sagst du denn zu   joelu   17.05.05 14:16
