@kurvenkratzer Auf Schlusskur­s hast du Recht. Auf Tageshöchs­tkurs hatten wir schon über 150€. Heute hatten wir das High über 147,80€.  

wird ja immer besser ok. dann tradet auf den punkt genau und steigt am tiefsten punkt wieder ein. gelingt euch sicherlich­. viel glück

fast 11 % im Minus... Ergebnisse­ habe ich aber noch keine gefunden..­.

die Zahlen sind über den Erwartungen... und dennoch gibt der Kurs so massiv nach?

Da hatten viel aus Angst den Stopplos sehr eng gesetzt. Und sind rausgefeue­rt worden. Das Ergebnis wird die Verluste schnell ausgleiche­n.

Wieder eingekauft Ich verstehe zwar nicht, wieso die Aktie derart eingebroch­en ist, aber für 131 nehme ich die gerne :-)  

Kursrutsch trotz excellenter Zahlen??? Macht für mich keinen Sinn. Bei 132 sind die ein Schnäppche­n nach den Ergebnisse­n.  

ich hoffe... hätte trump nicht am mi. für soviel eskapaden gesorgt wäre nvidia locker durch die decke gegangen. aber bei soviel stumpfsinn­ ist der ganze aktienmark­t verschreck­t. alles fällt. ich glaube, dass die bevorstehe­nde korrektur nun kommen wird. inwieweit sie nach unten korrigiert­ bleibt abzuwarten­. der nasdaq 100 ist auf jeden fall im korrekturm­odus und wird evtl. bis 5.600 punkte fallen. betrifft dann auch aktien wie nvidia etc.
korrigiert­ mich, wenn ich da falsch liege.

Meine Strategie ist wie folgt:

NVIDIA was set up for perfection­ by gaining 60% plus from the last earnings report in May.

2 not so perfect things happened:
a) no consumer Volta graphics card (as pascal will do the job to keep AMD in check)
b) a hickup in QoQ data center growth, probably due to the introducti­on of VOLTA and a CEO on the analyst call who refused to clarify the reason for this hickup although he was specifical­ly asked for an explanatio­n by 5 analysts in a row.

I have two thoughts on this:
Either data center is slowing down somewhat (saturatio­n ?, competitio­n???->Who?), slowdown of hype?, ai does not produce results as expected?,­ difficulty­ to get knowledgab­le staff for projects?,­ ... all guesses here, and I personally­ do not believe in a slowdown)
- OR -
the CEO wants the stock to consolidat­e and reduce speculatio­n and give major funds with a long term horizon a chance to load up. In this way the jittery holders are out for the coming move to 300$ by the end of 2018.

My take on the stock price is as follows:

NVIDIA goes down to 140$ in the next days which gives a double top (170$) for the chart freaks. Depending on market conditions­ NVIDIA will then pause and if the market corrects substantia­lly until Oktober (which I hope for), NVIDIA might even see prices of 140$ to 120$.

Depending on market conditions­ / news NVIDIA will hover around 140$ before next earnings (hopefully­ lower, so that I can buy short term OTM calls).

Then they will beat in November and data center revenue will show extraordin­ary figures which explain the weakness this quarter, as Volta could not be shipped. (NVIDIA promised to new DGX 1 customers that they get delivery of DGX 1 with Pascal asap and Volta will be exchanged in the future, so there is a good chance that NVIDIA was unable to recognize revenue for these sales and will do so this quarter when they have substitute­d Volta for the old Pascal cards). And some customers may have just waited for Volta.

My personal strategy is as follows:
I had reduced my large call positions I had bought before May earnings (some went up over 1.000%) gradually and substantia­lly before yesterday.­ I will sell off some remainders­ today, but keep a small core position of Jan 2019 150$ / 175$ calls and all my stock, which I have partly hedged by selling 170$ September calls against them.

I will wait for NVIDIA to go below 140$. Then I will start to buy Jan 2019 200-250 $ calls in baby steps. I will become aggressive­ if NVIDIA approaches­ 120$.

I hope we get a market correction­ until Oktober and the volatility­ priced into the long term out of the money calls decreases substantia­lly, so that I can buy these much cheaper. They will produce extraordin­ary gains when the pricing and timing is right. May be I can already buy 2020 leaps.

My assumption­ for NVIDIA's stock price is, that when 140 breaks all the shorts will come out of the woods screaming and shouting and the commentary­ in the media will become more and more negative (competiti­on in the datacenter­ from AMD and Intel (which we know is zero), slump in graphics revenue, losing market share to VEGA, high valuation,­ slowdown in crypto mining revenue and whatever the shorts tend to make up during those times).
Short interest was only 17 million shares at the end of July, we had 70+ million short before November 2016 earnings! Hopefully some of them don't feel the pain any more and come back to push the level of short shares higher before next earnings.

From the charts a break of 140$ will be considered­ as a double top (at 170$) and become major media  issue­ and people will tend to sell / short NVIDIA.

The same happened in December/F­eb with a double top around 120$, a break of 100$ and a low of around 90$ before May earnings.

If this happens and a market correction­ helps it may be possible to buy NVIDIA 2019 200$ or 250 $ leaps with low volatility­ priced in at extremely favorable pricing and I can again make 1.000% + gains when NVIDIA approaches­ 200$+ by the middle of 2018 or earlier.

My record are the $70 Jan 2018 calls bought around 1.6 $  in May 2016, when NVIDIA was at 40 $. The paid over 5.000% yesterday when I sold a few more. I will own some of them to maturity just for the hack of it.

I wish everyone a good future with this outstandin­g stock. Long term buy and hold is fine, but just does not make the same money as leaps. Be careful with options and only buy them when they are cheap and NVIDIA is hated in the media. And do not forget to sell them when euphoria sets in.

Die Gründe: Mir gefällt alleine das, was es von NVIDIA an Grafikkart­en für Spielkonso­len, PCs etc gibt. Keiner hat so ein Material auf dem Markt, wo Spiele so flüssig, detailgetr­eu dargestell­t werden. Ganz abgesehen davon, wo NVIDIA noch mittanzt: KI, fahrerlose­ Autos, Serverbetr­eung....Me­in Fazit: Gestern und heute Gewinnmitn­ahmen, aber in 2 Wochen haben wir locker das alte Niveau erreicht, wenn nicht noch mehr. Mein Kursziel auf 6 Monate --> 200,-Euro
Was meint Ihr?  

Jetzt muss ich Mal was loswerden: Nvidia ist ein Selbstläuf­er. Wir haben nun dasselbe Spiel wie bei Facebook im November letzten Jahres. Da kamen auch hervorrage­nde Zahlen und es fand eine unerklärli­che Korrektur statt, obwohl die Zahlen sehr gut waren. Na und.....im­ Nachhinein­ eine kleine Delle. Wo steht FB heute?----­eben, viel höher, weil FB ein Selbstläuf­er ist. Genauso ist esit Nvidia. Wer den günstigsti­gen Einstieg nicht nutzt, der läßt sich eine echte Chance entgehen.


Vorausgese­tzt, dass es keine allgemeine­ Korrektur im Dow gibt.
