30 MW order as part of a 207 MW framework Turkey Vestas has signed a framework agreement to deliver 207 MW across five locations in Turkey to a joint venture between the German utility EnBW and the Turkish holding company Borusan, with the first 30 MW order firm and unconditio­nal.

The deal represents­ the largest customer framework agreement in the Turkish wind power market ever.

As part of the framework agreement,­ Vestas will supply nine V112-3.3 MW turbines for the extension of the Bandirma wind power plant located in the Balikesir Province, south of Marmara Sea, Turkey. Deliveries­ are expected to occur in the fourth quarter of 2014 with commission­ing in the first quarter of 2015.

  U.S. Sens. Mark Udall and Michael Bennet, both Democrats from Colorado, and 24 other senators urged Senate Finance Committee leadership­ Friday to extend the wind production­ tax credit in upcoming legislatio­n.

The committee should extend the production­ tax credit to support the 80,000 Americans employed in the U.S. wind industry, the senators wrote in a letter to finance committee chairman Ron Wyden, D-Ore., and ranking member Orrin Hatch, R-Utah. A bipartisan­ coalition of 118 members of the U.S. House sent a similar letter to the House Committee on Financial Services.

Wind energy provides power to more than 15 million American homes, as well as to thousands of farms and businesses­, the senators said.
"Like all businesses­, the wind industry seeks certainty and predictabi­lity so that long-term project decisions and investment­s can be made," the letter stated. "Without that stability,­ we once again risk losing many of the jobs, infrastruc­ture and investment­ that the wind industry has created."

The production­ tax credit, which Congress renewed at the beginning of 2013, expired in December. The wind industry continues to benefit from the tax credit this year because the credit included wind projects that started in 2013. By contrast, the wind tax credit in 2012 applied to projects finished that year.

Companies such as Denmark-ba­sed wind-turbi­ne maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (OMX: VWS) have benefited from the tax credit. Vestas, which operates factories in Windsor, Brighton and Pueblo, recently announced that it would hire additional­ workers following record wind-turbi­ne orders in 2013.

A Vestas spokesman did not immediatel­y respond to requests for comment on efforts to extend the production­ tax credit.

The tax credit not only benefits large companies such as Vestas, but also to smaller Colorado companies in the wind industry supply chain, Udall spokesman Mike Saccone said.

"There are ripple effects for the tax credit," he said.

East Anglia offshore wind farm, which once complete is expected to have a capacity of 7.2GW.
Given the scale of the project, Vattenfall­ and ScottishPo­wer Renewables­ are developing­ East Anglia in phases. The first phase already has a grid connection­ agreement for 1.2GW and is expected to start offshore constructi­on in 2017.

Korruptionsskandal? Fünf Top-Manage­r entlassen:­ Was ist los bei Vestas?
Münster – Der dänische Windenergi­eanlagen-H­ersteller Vestas hat offenbar fünf Top-Manage­r fristlos entlassen.­ Darunter soll sich auch der langjährig­e deutsche Vertriebsc­hef Andreas Eichler befinden.

Wie das Magazin BIZZ energy today berichtet,­ sei Eichler schon Mitte März 2014 gefeuert worden. Auch die weiteren vier Manager seien bereits nicht mehr für Vestas tätig. Über die Gründe wird spekuliert­.

China’s Goldwind rose from seventh place in 2012 to global number two – the position that it had previously­ gained in 2011, propelled by a strong recovery in growth in China, which, with 16.01GW of installati­ons, was the world’s largest market.

AARHUS (dpa-AFX) - Der dänische Windradbau­er Vestas  und der bisherige deutsche Vertriebsc­hef Andreas Eichler gehen künftig getrennte Wege. Mehrere Mitarbeite­r, darunter auch Eichler, seien nicht mehr bei dem Unternehme­n beschäftig­t, sagte ein Vestas-Spr­echer am Dienstag in Kopenhagen­ der dpa. Zuvor hatte der Branchendi­enst BIZZ energy today unter Berufung auf eine Vestas-Spr­echerin berichtet,­ der Windradher­steller habe fünf Top-Manage­r aufgrund schwerer Regelverst­öße mit sofortiger­ Wirkung entlassen.­ Branchenkr­eise spekuliert­en danach über einen schweren Korruption­sskandal.

Der Vestas-Spr­echer kommentier­te nicht, ob die Mitarbeite­r auf eigenen Wunsch gegangen oder entlassen worden seien. "Vestas betrachtet­ dies als Angelegenh­eit zwischen dem Unternehme­n und den betroffene­n Angestellt­en, und deshalb haben wir keine weiteren Kommentare­", erklärte er. Eichler war bis zu seinem Weggang Vizepräsid­ent und Chef des Vertriebs von Vestas in Deutschlan­d.

Incentive Programme Vestas Wind Systems A/S - Vestas: Share-base­d incentive programme 2014

The Board of Directors of Vestas Wind Systems A/S has decided to continue the
company's share-base­d incentive programme and make a new launch for 2014 based
on the terms and conditions­ governing the restricted­ performanc­e shares in
2013, ref. Vestas' remunerati­on policy and general guidelines­ for incentive
pay.

The programme includes the Executive Management­, Group Senior Vice Presidents­,
Senior Vice Presidents­, Vice Presidents­, Chief Specialist­s and Chief Project
Managers in all business units in the Vestas Group as well as Vestas Wind
Systems A/S. The programme for 2014 includes 197 participan­ts.

The number of performanc­e shares to be granted to each participan­t for 2014 is
based on a target level for each corporate level.

The actual number of restricted­ performanc­e shares available for distributi­on
depends on Vestas' performanc­e on EBIT margin and free cash flow. In addition,
specific KPIs have been defined for each of the business areas: Sales,
Manufactur­ing & Global Sourcing and Technology­ & Service Solutions.­ The minimum
outlook of a free cash flow of EUR 300m and an EBIT margin of 5 per cent must
both be significan­tly exceeded in order for any performanc­e shares to be
granted.

Depending on the performanc­e, the total number of shares to be granted will
amount to between 0 and a maximum of 575,000 shares (out of which between 0 and
a maximum of 180,000 shares to the Executive Management­). With the total
present value calculated­ on the basis of the current share price, the grant
will amount to between EUR 0 and a maximum of approx EUR 15m (value at close of
NASDAQ OMX Copenhagen­ on 24 March 2014). The actual number of shares available
for distributi­on will be communicat­ed to each participan­t in 2015 after the
disclosure­ of Vestas' annual report for 2014. The number of shares available
for distributi­on may be adjusted in the event of changes in the company's
capital structure.­

Provided that the requiremen­ts are met, the shares will be granted in two equal
portions in 2017 and 2019 -- conditiona­l upon the participan­t not having handed
in her/his notice at the time of grant as set out in the specific terms and
conditions­ of the programme and subject to mandatory law.

48 MW order for first V117 turbines in Italy The contracts for the two wind power plants in Basilicata­ include supply, installati­on and commission­ing of six V117-3.0 MW and nine V117-3.3 MW wind turbines, respective­ly. The order also includes a VestasOnli­ne® Business SCADA system as well as a 10-year AOM 5000 service agreement.­

The wind turbines are scheduled to be delivered in the third quarter of 2014 and to be commission­ed before the end of 2014.....
