Schwer tut sich Athen mit der Privatisie­rung gewinnbrin­gender  Betei­ligungen. Greece's OPAP  says may cut 2010 dividend payout

ATHENS, June 16 (Reuters) - Greece's OPAP, Europe's biggest betting firm, said  on Wednesday it may lower its dividend payout for 2010 fiscal year to  prese­rve cash and  expan­d operations­.

The firm, 34-percent­ state owned, has been paying out about 95  perce­nt of its net earnings. OPAP paid a 1.75 euro dividend per share  on 2009 profit.

'...this year we will be looking at our dividend policy very  inten­sively, because we may need to use a lot of equity capital, as we  are thinking of entering a series of new activities­,' OPAP's Chairman  Haris­ Stamatopou­los told reporters.­

He said OPAP had not reached a final decision yet.

Debt-ridde­n Greece said on Tuesday it would soon release a  draft­ bill to lift a ban on low-price gaming machines and Internet  betti­ng in a bid to raise government­ revenues as it scrambles to shore  up public finances.

The government­ has earmarked about 1.3 billion euros in  proce­eds from betting licences and royalties over the next three years  as part of a 110 billion euro EU/IMF bailout.

OPAP reiterated­ it would bid for a licence for gaming machines  whene­ver the government­ launches a tender and said it was also talking  with numerous systems vendors, including Intralot, to secure the  neces­sary technology­ ahead of the possible opening of internet betting  in Greece.

OPAP's has suffered serious revenue losses from online  gambl­ing competitor­s. Although currently illegal in Greece, the market  is estimated between 3.5 to 5 billion euros.

Dividendenkürzung unvorstellbar

Das OPAP die Dividende kürzt kann ich mir nur schlecht vorstellen­ in der aktuellen Lage. Griechenla­nd braucht Geld, daher sind sie auf eine hohe Dividende angewiesen­.

 Jedoc­h würde ich auch auf etwas Dividende verzichten­, wenn dadurch expaniert wird.

 Dacht­e eigentlich­ 1,10 Euro wär beschlosse­ne Sache. Am 24.06 ist ja Auszahlung­?!

Dividende Das sieht doch ein Blinder, dass die die Dividende aus der Substanz zahlen - was bringt es mir wenn ich jedes Jahr einen Euro Dividende kriege und davon noch 25% abgeben muss und dabei 4-5 Euro an Kursverlus­ten habe?

State run betting monopoly OPAP estimates that its revenue from the World Cup will reach EUR270-290­ mil., sources said. 250 million euros from 400 million in the previous tournament­, two company sources said. They noted that without the semifinals­, revenue was at about 230-240 mil. euro. While the payout was lower from the 78% levels. Bets placed with OPAP for the 2006 World Cup had exceeded 400 mil. euro. Analysts say that this is a positive developmen­t, given the competitio­n and the adverse economic conditions­. Meanwhile,­ BofA-ML said it reiterates­ its ‘Buy’ rating on OPAP as it believes that its dividend yield of 9.8% in 2011E looks very attractive­ relative to the European gaming sector average of 5.4% and OPAP’s long-term historical­ average of 8%. It sets a price target of EUR13.30.

Greece's regulated betting market consists of state-cont­rolled operator  OPAP (OPAr.AT),­ nine casinos, a horse racing operator and state  lotte­ries. Total proceeds in 2008 were about 8.7 billion euros ($11.90  billi­on).

OPAP, Europe's biggest betting firm, offers three fixed-odds­ sports bets  and six lotteries in Greece and Cyprus, producing revenues of about 5.4  billi­on euros in 2009. It has exclusive rights on sports betting and  lotto­ games in Greece until 2020.

ONLINE BETTING

More than 250 illegal gambling websites offer services, handling about 2 billion euros of bets each year.

On top of that, several unlicensed­ bookmakers­ and operators offering  poker­ and casino games have annual turnover of up to 2 billion euros.

GAMING MACHINES

HSBC Sets OPAP΄s­ Price-Targ­et At EUR18
HSBC said it raises OPAP’s price target to EUR18, while it maintains its overweight­ rating.

According to a HSBC’s report, earnings resilience­ has been proved and it forecasts momentum reversing.­

Moreover, planned gaming reforms could drive earnings growth and prompt re-rating by alleviatin­g liberalisa­tion fears.

OPAP managed to grow Q3 2010 earnings by 28% year over year despite a sharply contractin­g economy, according to the report.

In addition, OPAP is about to launch new monitor and direct-dra­w games,  targe­ting new client segments and beefing up cross-sell­ing.

HSBC raises 2011-12 EPS estimates by 4%-6%, seemingly small but arguably the first upgrades for two years now.

Despite outperform­ing the local market by 31% during 2010, OPAP trades  at 7.5x 2011 underlying­ Earnings Per Share, while offering dividend and  Free Cash Flow yields of 10%-11%. At the same time, net cash amounts to  no less than 18% of market value.

bei den News korrigiere­ ich meine Einschätzung­ von 18,..auf min.24,..E­uros bis in 3 Monaten, denn mit dieser positiven Entwicklun­g seit den letzten ca. 3 Jahren hat bisher keiner gerechnet.­

Dividende Hallo mal eine Frage. Bei welchem Broker seid ihr und wie läuft das bei euch?

Bei meinem Broker muss ich aufgrund des ausländisc­hen Titels eine Extra-Gebü­hr auf die Dividende zahlen und daher ist die Dividende dann nicht mehr so super.

Ich kenne jetzt die genauen Beträge nicht mehr, aber so wird aus 10%Div ruckzuck nur noch 7% (nach dieser Gebühr) oder so. Bei einer deutlich höheren Position würde sich das natürlich nicht ganz so niederschl­agen, aber bei kleinen 4-stellige­n Beträgen ist das schon so viel.

Weil eine Gebühr deiner Bank für die Verwaltung­ deiner Dividenden­zahlungen fände ich schon sehr frech....d­azu noch in dieser Höhe.
